Doc to Dock

Published by Z Gamblin Man under Save The World

Every year we discard thousand of tons of unused medical supplies. This is due to overproduction, procedural excess and regulatoDoc to Dockry requirements. Since they are not used, these supplies are either incinerated or sent to landfils. In addition to being wasteful, this is harmful to the environment. At the same time in developing countries many thousands of patients do not receive treatment due to a lack of medical supplies. Doc to Dock collects these unused medical supplies and sends them to Africa.

The way this is done is by:

  1. Receiving monetary donations and collecting the medical supplies from participating hospitals.
  2. Volunteers sort out all the supplies.
  3. Medical centers overseas order online what they need.
  4. The supplies are then shipped.

You can make a difference. $1 collected allows Doc to Dock to send the equivalent of $20 in medical supplies.

If you are in the medical field you can help in the following ways:

  • Medical centers can set up recycling bins in operating rooms and suites. After a facility renovation, you can donate used but working equipment
  • Health care professional can spread the word. They can also bring designated items to conventions and conferences.
  • Large and small medical companies can donate inventories and become a sponsor.
